Troubleshooting tapvi
1. Make sure their phone works with the Compatible Devices
The phone model you have does not matter when sharing, unless the NFC is turned off on the individuals phone
Phones without NFC can access users profile by scanning the QR code.
2. iPhone users: Make sure to touch your tapvi to the very top of the back of the individuals phone.
3. A tapvi CANNOT be read when:
- their phone is in airplane mode
- their device flashlight is on
- their phone screen is off
- their camera is open

2. Make sure to touch your tapvi to the very center of the back of their phone.
For Androids, the sweet spot for reading a tapvi is in the center of the back of the device.
3. Turn on NFC capabilities in the individuals phone settings
If their phone is on the compatible devices list and is still not reading your tapvi, go to their phone settings and search for NFC. Make sure that “NFC” is turned on!
4. A tapvi CANNOT be read when:
- their phone is in airplane mode
- their device flashlight is on
- their phone screen is off
- their camera is open
If your tapvi is setting off your own phone, move it to the bottom of your iPhone or Android!
For Galaxies/Notes, it is actually better to place at the top by the camera.
Make sure and try a placement before you stick your tapvi!

The other individual doesn’t need an app or a tapvi to receive your info.

For iPhones: Place your tapvi on the bottom of your phone. If you place it at the top, it will set off your phone’s reader constantly!
For most Androids: Place your tapvi on the bottom as well.
For Galaxies/Notes: Place your tapvi at the top of your phone by your camera!
No! The other person does not need a tapvi or app to receive your tapvi profile. That’s the beauty of tapvi ⚡️
If their phone is on this list of compatible devices you can pop to their phone. If it is not, just use your tapvi QR code on your profile to share!
No! tapvi can be placed anywhere you want. You can put a tapvi:
- on your laptop
- in your car
- on a restaurant table
- in your office
- in an open house
- the possibilities are endless!
The tapvi doesn’t communicate to the phone it is on, it communicates to the phone it is sharing info to.
Yes you can! With the tapvi app, you can activate as many tapvi as you want with the same account. Just log into the account you want to activate your tapvi with and tap “Activate tapvi”!

A pop occurs when you touch your tapvi to the back of another person’s compatible phone to share your tapvi profile!
This sharing is initiated by a push notification that will appear on the other person’s phone. If that notification is tapped, your profile will load in the browser on their phone. No app is required for this!
Your pop count is the number of times you pop your tapvi profile. In the future, we will have rewards for reaching a certain number of pops. So let’s get tapvi!

Compatibility
Yes! tapvi will work through 99.9% of phone cases, including ones that hold credit cards. The only exception would be if your case has a layer of metal.
For iPhones, the iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, SE and all future iPhones are compatible with the pop feature of tapvi.
When reading from the tapvi app, iPhone 7 and newer are compatible with tapvi! Just use the “Read a tapvi” function in the main menu.
Virtually all Android Smartphones are compatible with the pop feature of tapvi. However, please visit our compatible devices page to ensure that your smartphone is on the list.
iPhones as old as the iPhone 5S and almost all Androids can use their camera to scan your tapvi QR code. Your tapvi QR code can be found by tapping the QR code button on the top right of your profile on poplme.co. You can even add your tapvi Card to your Apple Wallet for easy access!
You can also share your profile via text, airdrop, email or any social network by sharing the link to your tapvi profile.
No, tapvi have no effect on your phone’s wireless charging capabilities and will not interfere.
Some Android phones have NFC turned off by default!
If your Android is not reading tapvi please follow the following:
- From a Home screen, navigate: Apps. > Settings. These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
- Tap More networks.
- Tap NFC.
- Tap the NFC switch to turn on or off .

If you are getting this message in the tapvi App, that means you have a tapvi that is already activated!
Please follow the steps on the back of the tapvi notecard you received, no need to activate using the app. Once you have followed those steps, your tapvi is good to go and will automatically be updated with any changes you do on the app.
With the tapvi app downloaded, iPhone 7 and newer can receive your profile in app! This functionality is available with the “Read a tapvi ” option from in the tapvi app main menu.
No, the tapvi app is meant to provide a better experience once you have already purchased the tapvi product. You cannot tap another phone with just the app. you may use your tapvi or your QR code provided on the app.
